Uzgen Minaret and Mausoleums
Uzgen’s minaret and mausoleums form one of the most important medieval architectural groups in Kyrgyzstan. The complex is compact, but the brickwork, proportions, and survival of the monuments make it a rewarding historical stop.
The visit is about detail. Look closely at the carved brick patterns, portals, and the relationship between the minaret and the mausoleums. The complex connects Uzgen with the wider Islamic and Silk Road architecture of the Fergana Valley.
It works well as a focused cultural stop between Osh and the eastern part of the valley.
